Generations

Immerse yourself into Generative Art of all levels. The Moving Arts Centre shows three areas, reflecting their three pillars:

Create: learn to use generative tooling (Workshop space)

Showcase: Give stage to audiovisual arts & artists (Cinema)

Talent:  Connecting upcoming talent in the Multiscreen Room (Studio)

‘Generations’ explores new and old forms of generative art by showcasing works which research the boundaries of generative art in storytelling and experience for the audience. From professionals to enthusiasts, ‘Generations’ aims to spark conversations on the potential value of interactions between generations on the essence of generative art as it gives space for new forms and perspectives adding to what is known as generative art.

Generative art represents more than the initial mission around the 60s towards technological innovation which brought an autonomous computer that interprets different code lines. From this we have evolved to a point where artists are able to bring life and 'humanity' in what is generated or portrayed, overall, things that are closer to a human experience and that actually bring technology (in the Arts) closer to humans. Therefore, how can artists use their 'new skills' of today to challenge 'old' notions, or boundaries established over generative art.
