FULL PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Julius Horsthuis & Roel Funcken

Electronic musical artist Roel Funcken and fractal artist Julius Horsthuis combine their art forms in an immersive audiovisual performance. Funcken's music guides the audience through a fractal maze of complexity and rhythm, unfolding into infinite, ever-shifting worlds that blur the line between the abstract and the cosmic. Horsthuis was inspired by a recent concert he gave in the US where he noticed how well the immersive fractals gelled with beat-heavy intelligent dance music. The result is a deeply cinematic journey, where both the microscopic details and infinite expanses of geometry and music intertwine and resonate.

Quasar by Maggie Khorrami

"Quasar" is an evolving series of audio and light installations that explores the relationship between light, sound, time, and space. By using diverse techniques, it creates a harmonious interaction between these elements, serving as a canvas for artistic progression. "Quasar" challenges perceptions of time and space, stimulating moments of detachment from reality while encouraging imagination.

AJNA by Emma Rubikaitė - Milašiūtė

AJNA is an immersive light installation that offers visitors a unique opportunity to delve into

their inner worlds.  It provides a space for visitors to escape these distractions and embark on a journey of self-reflection. The installation uses light, color, and absence of sound to stimulate the unconscious mind.

Obstruct III - Polydipsis by Giulia Principe

The work's layered textures seem to expand and contract simultaneously, reaching outwards while turning inward, searching for something beyond the boundaries of form. Like the souls condemned to thirst in the downpour of Dante’s hell, the elements of Polydipsis stretch toward fulfillment but never quite arrive.

Pond by Danny Dyer

Pond is a light installation featuring water-based scenes designed to slow participants down and immerse them in a multi-sensory experience. Hovering above eye level, lily pads float like bio-UFOs, while a diverse array of aquatic creatures invites touch and playful interaction, both above and below the waterline.

Obstruct II  Expansion by Giulia

Particles do not extend into an external void but instead alter the space between them, embodying the idea that space itself is evolving. Expansion captures this intrinsic growth, where boundaries dissolve, and the scale of space is constantly shifting, suggesting that growth is woven into the fabric of existence itself. The work serves as a meditation on the limitless, self-contained nature of expansion, mirroring the universe’s own relentless evolution. This visual representation captures the idea of space as something fluid, ever-growing, and capable of encompassing more as it continues to evolve.
